Adelina Santos-Borja

Ms. Adelina Santos-Borja has over 40 years of expertise in integrated lake basin management (ILBM), focusing on limnology, water resources, environmental impact assessment, and stakeholder engagement. She retired in 2020 as Manager of the Resource Management and Development Department at the Laguna Lake Development Authority, where she built partnerships for collaborative research, conservation, and citizen science. Santos-Borja holds M.Sc. degrees in Biology (1984) and Environmental Science (2009) from the University of the Philippines and has completed specialized training in Limnology, Water Quality Management, Resource Management, and Water Leadership. She has received multiple awards, including the Ibaraki Kasumigaura Award and an Environmental Science and Management Award. A long-time member of the ILEC Scientific Committee and Chairperson of the Southeast Asian Limnological Network (SEALNet), she promotes ILBM practices in Southeast Asia.
